Chinese New Year Celebration

The year of the Tiger 2010 represents strength and wealth that comes from hard work, so be encouraged and celebrate!

You were born under the sign of the Tiger if you were born in 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998.

Born in other years?  Click here to see what your Chinese sign and characteristics are.

A suggested menu for your party:

Egg rolls or Spring rolls - both found in the freezer section of your grocer.

How about some egg drop soup?

Egg roll Salad as an alternative to Egg Rolls

Fried Rice

Water Chestnut Appetizers

Of course you can always order take out from your local Chinese Restaurant if you don't have time to fix yourself.

And don't forget the fortune cookies!

For your decorations, think in colors for bright red and gold.  Our "store" has some great ideas and easy ordering if you need a time saver.  Just click on one of the images to view what's available.

Chinese firecrackers or sparklers are a must!  You can't start the New Year without them!

Check Publix or World Market for Chinese Beer if you are interested in being that authentic.  One Chinese brand is Tsingtao.

Oranges are a sign of good luck, so have a bowl full of oranges prominently displayed and consider giving them to you guests as they leave!

This would make a great theme for a couples wedding shower!  Embracing the two holidays at the same time HAS to bring Good Luck!
