Chocolate Tasting Party

Chocolate Tasting Party Idea

Treat yourself and your friends to the universal passion of chocolate.   Our chocolate tasting party is decadently fun.

You’ll need to visit a local chocolate shop to buy a variety of chocolate wafers or molded pieces for your party.   Tasting pieces should be similar in size and shape.  Only a small piece of each variety is needed.  Purchase a sampling of milk chocolate to dark chocolate.

To emphasize the difference between high end chocolate and the more common “candy isle” types put out a sampling of a common plain chocolate bar, cut into small pieces.  You will really be able to taste the difference.

Label your chocolate samples.  You can buy printable place cards at a local office supply store.

If you are a wine lover, try pairing your chocolates with wine.  Red wine and chocolate are a nice combination.  Dry wines pair best with darker chocolates.  Sweeter wines favor sweeter chocolates.  Our friends at The Nibble have a wine and chocolate pairing chart that will help you decide what wines to serve.

When staging your chocolate samples for you party, use edible flowers such as pansey's or Gerber Daisies to add color to your table.  Any flower grown from seed can be safely used in your food displays.

We have some chocolate tasting party tips from Crave Chocolates at Patton Creek in Birmingham.  See the link below for a downloadable version of these tips.  Like wines, chocolate has a great deal of variety.

Prepare a bowl of mixed berries for a lovely color contrast and a palate cleansing nibble.

Send out your party invitations, buy your chocolate and you will have a unique and memorable party event.  Don’t be afraid to ask some of your friends to share in the purchasing of the chocolate or wines.
